10 Most Underrated Indie Rock Albums Of All Time

1. Let’s Wrestle - In The Court Of The Wrestling Let’s

As the ‘00s wave of “landfill indie” crested, noisy boys with guitars had started to get a little stale. To that end, it’s not a hard sell to suggest that, had Let’s Wrestle come on the scene a few years earlier, they could have been huge stars.

Their debut album (named cheekily after a King Crimson record) is front to back bangers, 16 pristine tracks laden with hooks and choruses that beg to be sung (or shouted) along to.

"I Won't Lie to You" is full throttle punk with a throat-wrenching vocal turn. "It's Not Going to Happen" is a melancholy and delightfully specific examination of a relationship breaking down, with his ex’s ambivalence towards kung fu cinema a cause of the split.

Best of all is lead single "We Are The Men You'll Grow to Love Soon", an impossibly catchy track that in any just world would have been a megahit on the level of similar noisy tracks by Kaiser Chiefs or The Fratellis.

Let’s Wrestle cover topics from youthful angst to the death of Princess Diana in explosive style, and are a glorious cult act who could have been huge.
