10 Most Underrated Kanye West Songs
3. 4th Dimension - Kids See Ghosts
Ever since his mammoth shakeups over the years since the Life of Pablo, a lot of people have speculated as to when Kanye truly went off the deep end. While some fans are still onboard with the more evangelical direction he went in with the Sunday Service choir, the Wyoming sessions he made with the likes of Nas and Teyana Taylor showed a much different direction for him after dealing with bipolar disorder. Despite giving us a solid slice of himself on Ye, West gave us something we didn't even known we wanted on Kids See Ghosts.
Being a full collaboration with Kid Cudi for the first time, 4th Dimension feels like the mission statement for the entire record, with production that is drenched in reverb and distortion to create an almost hazy feel to the music. Pulling from different psychedelic soundscapes, this entire song feels like the best of both worlds for Kanye, structured around a soul sample while at the same time feeling modern during a time where people started to question that he'd lost his way.
There are even a few cues from the Yeezus period on here as well, as the drums are brought front and center in the mix to create an almost tribal sense of production to the whole thing. As much as Cudi brings his A-game to every one of these tracks, 4th Dimension has the personality of Kanye written all over it.
