10 Most Underrated Led Zeppelin Songs
2. Ten Years Gone
Originally planned by Page to be an instrumental track, Ten Years Gone feels very deep and reflective. Whilst still having the classic Led Zeppelin vibe, it feels a lot softer as if it has the ability to send the listener into a trance. For this instrumental piece, Page had strung together fourteen guitar sessions. Later, Plant decided to add lyrics.
In an 1975 interview it was revealed that the lyrics Plant added were about an old girlfriend who he had been seeing ten years earlier, when he started out with music. She told him "it's me or your fans", and whilst at the time Plant didn't have many fans, he decided to stick with music. And thank god he did!
