10 Most Underrated Led Zeppelin Songs

3. No Quarter

Led Zeppelin Albums
Atlantic

Personally, this song has always given me Pink Floyd vibes, with its psychedelic sound. The sound editing on this track makes it feel a lot moodier than some of the band's previous songs, giving it a real attitude.

The track stays fairly quiet for a very long period of time, not livening up till at least half way in, and even then still fading back into the quieter tone. The song makes use of a slower guitar riff, as well as a keyboard, with Plant's wavering, and almost electronic, tone on top.

Much like The Immigrant Song, two albums previously, this song makes use of Zeppelin's lyrics surrounding viking and norse mythology. The song's title even refers to a term in battle, to show no mercy when taking on an enemy.

After its release, the song became a centrepiece of Led Zeppelin's live gigs until the 1980s.
