10 Most Underrated Led Zeppelin Songs
5. Travelling River Blues
As the title may suggest, this is probably one of the band's biggest explorations into the blues side of blues rock. The main way this varies from the band's usual style is that Page uses an acoustic guitar for the entire song.
Whilst not released until 1980, this song was recorded at the BBC in 1969. The song was originally written and preformed by Robert Johnson. Zeppelin's version is quite different to the original, most notably in it being twice as long.
Led Zeppelin's version is more of a tribute to Johnson rather than a direct cover. Plant incorporates lyrics from many other of Johnson's songs. Some of the lyrics connect to a track from Led Zeppelin II, which we'll get to later on.
