10 Most Underrated Led Zeppelin Songs

4. Achilles Last Stand

Led Zeppelin Albums
Swan Song

The opening track of the band's seventh album, Achilles Last Stand was developed during the band's break from preforming in 1975 to travel and remain tax exiles.

The track was influenced by Eastern music, mythology, and diverse cultures the band came across during their travels. The song is also another of the band's longest tracks. It's also one of their most complex tracks in terms of the amount of overdubs being interwoven.

The track is the usual Zeppelin format, with Bonham attacking the drums and Page on some immaculate chords. In several interviews, Page has claimed this to be his favourite of the group's songs, and considers the guitar solo to be on a par with his Stairway to Heaven solo.

Bearing in mind the adoration everyone has for Stairway to Heaven, that's quite a claim.
