10 Most Underrated Members Of Legendary Rock Bands

5. Joe Hahn - Linkin Park

If there's one band member from nu metal acts that haven't aged all that well, it would be the DJ. As much as the idea of creating soundscapes in rock and roll sounded like a good idea at the time, the kind of sample heavy scratch tracks that came out of that scene still feel a lot more cringy when you look back on them. Among all of the wannabe rockstars behind the turntables, Joe Hahn was always the little samplist that could in Linkin Park.

From day one, Linkin Park never really felt comfortable in just the nu metal genre, being a pure synthesis of every kind of music that the band listened to. And while there's definitely some age showing in some of the lyrical content from time to time, Hahn's electronic soundscapes always feel right at home, down to his solo track Session off of Meteora being the only Linkin Park song that won a Grammy off of that record.

Over time, Hahn has always had a hands-on process to everything the band does, from being involved in more of the style changes on albums like A Thousand Suns to being the mastermind behind some of the videos for songs like Breaking the Habit. Compared to the more artificial sounds of nu metal that were happening at the time, Joe gave Linkin Park much more of a homemade feel when he performed.
