10 Most Underrated Mötley Crüe Songs

4. Goin Out Swingin - Saints Of Los Angeles

Like all comeback albums, Saints of Los Angeles had a lot riding on it from the minute it was announced. Not only did it have to try and meet the standards of the Crue's classic work, but it also had to make some sort of progression that didn't seem possible for a band that's been in the game this long. Instead of a collection of songs though, this felt like a celebration of everything the Crue has ever done, and they needed one last sendoff to tie it all together.

Right after the odes to excess like the title track and Motherf***er of the Year, Goin Out Swingin feels like the curtain closing on some strange Motley Crue musical, with the rhythm section blasting away and Vince Neil actually getting a lot more gusto into his voice than usual. With the help of James Michael behind the production, this thing sounds like what would happen if the Crue back in the '80s happened to have some new toys in the studio and are letting it rip.

This isn't a case where the songs turn into something that you'd hear on a SIXX:AM record or anything. This is a Crue song through and through, and considering the whole thing started with Face Down in the Dirt, this is about as perfect a final chapter as you could hope for from the kings of Sunset.
