10 Most Underrated Mötley Crüe Songs
3. Too Fast For Love - Too Fast For Love
If there's one word that best fits Too Fast For Love, it would probably be innocent. As much as the band would get more and more dangerous with each passing release, this is the kind of rough around the edges kind of sound that made the band adored by the fans off of Sunset as well as the punks in the clubs. And it doesn't get any more by the numbers than that title track.
That's not to say that the band don't do a lot with what they have to work with. From the outset, most of the song is built around this slow climbing lick that Nikki came up with on the bass, but once the rest of the band got ahold of it, it became something a lot more edgy than you ever thought. As soon as you hit the lowest part of the riff, it feels like you've just revved up the engine of a motorcycle and are about to take off into the night.
The vocals are also a lot more snide than before, almost like Vince Neil is trying his best to sound like a member of the Damned rather than David Lee Roth. Considering how much energy it has from start to finish, this whole song almost seems too fast for its own good...so I guess the title fits a lot better.
