10 Most Underrated Oasis Songs

9. Where Did It All Go Wrong - Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants

Seeing the steep dropoff of Oasis at the turn of the '90s seems to be looking at the fall of the rock empire these days. After Be Here Now hit a real sour note over time, seeing them retreat out of the public eye and not emerge with a new album for nearly half a decade was disheartening coming from the former gods of the industry. And nowhere was this pain more apparent than with Noel Gallagher himself.

Being the de facto singer of the heartfelt ballads on the records, Where Did It All Go Wrong shows Noel handle an emotion that he never shows in interviews: vulnerability. Though not targeted at himself, you can hear him talking to one of his friends about the superficiality of their lives and how there's nothing much to grab onto once all of the money and fame fades away.

Compared to the optimistic attitude that we heard all the way back on Definitely Maybe, this Noel sounds a lot more concerned and unsure of himself about where he should go. He doesn't have all the answers, so he's just trying to work his way through life and hope for the best. Since Be Here Now knocked them down a peg, you could probably consider this entire song as Noel doing his own autopsy on how the band fell from grace.
