10 Most Underrated Pearl Jam Songs

4. Let The Records Play - Lightning Bolt

Every rock band that decides to continue past the age of 30 is going to have their flirtation with blues sooner or later. Hell, some of the biggest names in rock right now are practically already there, forgetting the innovative part of their career and going into prime dad rock territory before they're even out of diapers. Though Pearl Jam are no exception to this, Let the Records Play is one of the most warped takes on the blues ever conceived.

Centered around a riff that Stone was toying around with while playing Jeff Ament's guitar, a lot of this song feels like a slow boogie rock song that you would hear if you found ZZ Top and Aerosmith having a jam session. This isn't just your typical 12 bar stuff or anything, with the song being in a weird tuning and having Mike McCready turning in one of his weirdest solos of his career on the back end of the song.

Even Eddie is on board with the kind of throwback vibe, since the lyrics are about nothing more than a guy chilling out and enjoying kicking back at the end of the day with his favorite vinyl collection. Other bands: you best be taking notes here. This is the kind of song that separates the cheesy dad rock from the cool dads.
