10 Most Underrated Radiohead Songs

8. Codex - The King Of Limbs

A lot of Radiohead fans stand by the fact that The King of Limbs works a lot better as an idea than an actual album. Even though the idea of using different loops to stretch themselves does sound like an experiment that Radiohead would work perfect in, the end result came together with a pretty audible clunk at the end of the day. Whereas most of the songs on here devolved into just standard loops, Codex is where you see them hitting on something that's working.

Setting it up with just a piano, this is about the most Radiohead sounding song on the entire record, complete with one of the most impassioned vocals of Thom in this period of the band. While the lyrics themselves talk about a person jumping off the edge, the feel of this song speaks more to loneliness, as if someone is desperately trying to find some sort of connection with the people around them.

If anything, it almost works great for the King of Limbs as an album. Out of all the strange sonic detours and Thom's amazing dance moves in the video for Lotusflower, this is where the album starts to really turn a corner. It's just a shame it happens to come towards the tail end of the project. For a record that feels separated from reality in some spots, this is where Radiohead starting coming back down to Earth.
