10 Most Unexpected Collaborations In Modern Rock

7. Linkin Park & Stormzy

Once again, maybe this shouldn't come as a massive shock considering that Linkin Park have openly incorporated rap into their sound from day one.

Alongside the gravelly vocals of the late Chester Bennington, the group also hosted rapper Mike Shinoda, whose flows make up some of the most iconic parts of the band's discography. However, was anybody really expecting this nu metal outfit to team up with one of the biggest names in UK grime in 2017?

Didn't think so.

Well, that's exactly what happened when Linkin Park teamed up with British superstar Stormzy to release the track Good Goodbye. The whole thing came about when the two artists' managers ran into each other - presumably at a high-end party, rather than just down the shops.

The London-based performer wrote his own verses for the song and was joined by US rapper Pusha T to make this a doubly-surprising entry.

Good Goodbye featured on the album One More Light, which was the final Linkin Park album to be released before Bennington's death. The fact that Stormzy inadvertently played a part in this piece of rock history only adds to the strangeness of what is already a bizarre musical combo.
