10 Most Unforgettable Super Bowl Halftime Performances Ever

8. Paul McCartney (2005)

This was actually Macca's second Super Bowl halftime performance, having entertained with a rendition of Freedom in 2002. The 2002 performance was okay for what it was (one song) but the 2005 halftime show, featuring a four song set, was much, much better. There was very little pomp and circumstance to the former Beatle's performance and he instead just blasted out powerful versions of Drive My Car, Get Back, Live And Let Die and the timeless Hey Jude. This was Paul McCartney at his best and it was perhaps this performance that convinced Bob Geldof to feature him so heavily at Live 8 later on in the year. There's nothing quite like the sight of 78,000 people singing along to Hey Jude, as evidenced by the clip below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G_OZnh-OKU
