10 Most Unforgettable Super Bowl Halftime Performances Ever
4. Madonna (2012)
Madonna's halftime show performance might not have been to everyone's tastes but you cannot fault the effort or the spectacle. Anyone who knows anything about Madonna knows that, when it comes to live events, she is the undisputed queen. Her penchant for choreography and reinvention are legendary. So when Madonna came out on stage as a gladiatorial queen belting out her hit song Vogue, nobody batted an eyelid. Completely over-the-top and, in all honesty, a bit of a mess the show was nonetheless captivating. Cee-Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and MIA joined Madonna on stage for parts of Music, Give Me All Your Luvin, Open Your Heart/Express Yourself and finally, Like A Prayer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ik_8QjM3U MIA caused a bit of a stir when she gave the camera the middle finger at the end of Give Me All Your Luvin. The NFL sued Minaj for the incident and the two parties settled out of court this year. The performance was (at that point) the most watched Super Bowl halftime show performance ever with an estimated audience of 114 million people. At the end of the set, the phrase 'World Peace' was spelled out in lights on the stage.
