10 Most Unforgettable Super Bowl Halftime Performances Ever

3. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (2009)

Is there anybody alive out there?!? The Boss was a great choice for the Super Bowl halftime performer and somehow managed to condense the energy and excitement of a three hour concert into fourteen minutes. The show was pure rock and roll and Bruce set the tone by jumping on the piano during the opening Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out and then slid, crotch-first, into a camera.. A pulsating version of concert staple Born To Run followed. Bruce turned preacher for Working On A Dream and ended the set with a slightly-modified (to fit the football theme) Glory Days. No lip-syncing, no needless gimmicks or stages here. Just a balls-out rock and roll show by one of the greatest bands on earth. Bruce had declined the Super Bowl halftime spot many times previously but, when he finally did do the show, it was worth the wait. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R06FMoT-hkk
