10 Most Unsubtle Rock Music Innuendos
1. Kielbasa - Tenacious D (2001)
Tenacious D's first album was a masterpiece of rock comedy. It straddled the line between utterly stupid and surprisingly clever. But behind all the crude jokes and references to smoking pot, this was an album that rocked just as hard as anything else that came out at the time.
Kyle Gass is a monster on the acoustic guitar; ripping tasty licks with all the proficiency of the great metal guitarists of the '80s. Jack Black's voice is almost wasted on a comedy record. His vocal range has such a resonate power that he could have became the next Meatloaf. Let's not forgot, this record also benefitted from the drumming powerhouse Dave Grohl.
For all their musical brilliance, the D are nothing if not comic absurdists. This isn't high brow stuff, it's the kind of humour we all enjoyed in the school yard - crude d*ck jokes and toilet gags.
When Tenacious D release a song named after a type of Polish sausage, you better believe they ain't singing about food. The metaphor ends quickly, however. After a few lines, the lyrics go into fairly graphic details about Jack Black's carnal escapades. Even 20 years later, it still gets a laugh.
