10 Most Unsubtle Rock Music Innuendos

3. Animals - Nickelback (2005)

Hot off the back of the success of Rockstar, Nickelback released the album All The Right Reasons. Among other tediously derivative post-grunge songs, it contained the meme-inducing track Photograph - a song that even now elicits a half-cringe/half-smirk whenever it gets a mention.

But, it was far from the only cringe-inducing number on the record. Buried in all the dross was a particularly sordid specimen. In the same way you might stick on a Mötley Crüe track and get off on the amusingly silly bravado, Animals is jam-packed full of laughs.

The lyrics detail the animalistic carnal relationship of a couple who enjoy a spot of dogging every now and then. Chad Kroeger has never been hailed for his lyrical abilities, but even for him, this is a low moment. Let's consider the fact that Kroeger was 30/31 when he wrote this track - the lyrics read like the escapades of a couple of kids half his age. Besides that, he deploys some uniquely dire wordplay, best exemplified with the line "I got both hands on the wheel, while you got both hands on my gears". Sigh...
