10 Music Artists That Won't Defend Their Own Songs
5. One By One - Foo Fighters
There's no shame in having one song in your catalog that you're not all that crazy about. This is a job that makes you be creative 24/7, and you're going to have those few tracks that don't hit the mark the same way as your classics do. Then again, it's hard to be that petty when it comes to an entire album's worth of material.
When Foo Fighters were entering the '00s, things were really starting to unravel, as Dave Grohl went on a tour with Queens of the Stone Age and leaving the rest of the band in limbo waiting for him to get back. By the time that they went into record the album One by One, the sessions went horribly and the band even came close to breaking up before they decided to completely start over from scratch. Though this did give us songs like All My Life and Times Like These, Dave Grohl doesn't feel hatred for the rest of the record...he just doesn't feel anything at all.
Outside of the singles from this record, Dave has said that this is one of his least favorite Foos records, saying that he tore through the rest of the non-single tracks during the session and never played them live again. This was definitely a dark time in the Foo Fighters' world, but a song like Come Back at least gave us a look at the blending of acoustic and electric songs that would come just a few years later.
