10 Music Genre Switchups That Made Absolutely No Sense

3. Christmas Songs - Bad Religion

Holiday albums are nothing new in the world of music. Every now and then, you'll have countless artists either covering holiday classics for the Christmas season or making their own Christmas songs hoping that they'll go the way of Mariah Carey and become modern classics. Of all the bands to try this out though, it's a complete oxymoron to see someone like Bad Religion doing this.

For most of their fanbase, you don't need someone like me to explain this to you. THEIR NAME IS BAD RELIGION! Their logo literally is a religious cross crossed out, so how the hell are they making their own versions of old Christmas carols? While this was treated as just a one off project, the proceeds of the songs ended up going to a good cause, taking a portion of the proceeds and donating them to the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. Their hearts were definitely in the right place here, and it's even better when you realize that these cover versions are actually pretty good.

While other acts would be content just to play these songs straight and not do anything new, this is just Bad Religion performing your average Christmas songs, with classics like White Christmas sounding like if the Ramones managed to make their own holiday tune. It's easy to stick with the traditional versions of these tunes for the holiday season, but this is the kind of Christmas miracle that no one was asking for but somehow got.
