10 Music Reunions That Were Doomed From The Start

7. Milli Vanilli

Milli Vanilli will always go down in history for their infamous lip-syncing scandal. Dancers Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus were picked as the face of the band by German record producer Frank Farian. Due to their less than impressive singing abilities Farian had session musicians record the vocals in the studio. All the duo had to do was dance, look good and pretend they were the actual singers in live shows and interviews.

This worked well for a while and the group even earned a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1990. But before long the game was up. Technical mishaps at live shows roused suspicion and soon after the duo were forced to confess.

Desperate to make amends to their tarnished reputations the duo got together to record an album under the name Rob & Fab. It was released in 1993 but it only sold around 2,000 copies.

Another comeback was in the pipeline before Rob Pilatus' untimely death in 1998 from a suspected overdose. In the years since Morvan has carved out a career as a solo artist with modest success proving that he has a decent singing voice in the process.
