10 Music Reunions That Were Doomed From The Start
8. East 17
East 17 have always spent their musical career playing second fiddle to Take That. Although they found themselves success in the 1990s as the archetypal bad boys next to Take That's clean cut image they could never surpass their boyband rivals.
The same can definitely be said about their reunion in 2006. Buoyed by the success of Take That's reunion the year before, it must have seemed like a wise idea to reform themselves. What followed was anything other than a success.
There had always been tension between East 17's two front men, Tony Mortimer and Brian Harvey. This would spill over at the group's reunion gig at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. Mortimer and Harvey had a huge row and reports said that punches were thrown. Mortimer left the band soon after.
In the years since East 17 have gone through various personnel changes as they try relive past glories. Mortimer rejoined the group in 2010 and Harvey left soon after. Mortimer left again in 2013 followed by backing singer John Hendy. At present the only original member left is Terry Coldwell. The group is still touring albeit in much smaller venues than that of their 1990s heyday.
