10 Music Reunions That Were Doomed From The Start

When reports came in that The Police were going to reform for their 30th anniversary it seemed to go against what Sting had said previously about any reunion. Once stating that he "should be certified insane" if he were to ever get back together with Andy Summer and Stewart Copeland when tour dates were confirmed in February 2007 it definitely raised a few eyebrows.

When asked why he had had a change of heart Sting stated that he saw the tour as "a kind of healing", adding "I think solving problems is an exercise worth doing."

Although the tour itself was a huge commercial success it seems that behind the scenes playing as a group again was not that pleasurable. In February 2008 the trio announced that when the tour finished they would be breaking up again.

Asked in 2010 what he thought of reunion, Sting clearly did not think it was worthwhile. He said "There was nothing new in it - no new songs, no new energy, no desire to take that as a platform and move somewhere else." He also said that he thought the whole thing was "purely an exercise in nostalgia."

Obviously not many problems were solved in this reunion.
