10 Musical Reunions That Were A Disaster
8. CCR
It's pretty impossible not to get a smile on your face whenever you throw on a CCR song. Even though most of the songs like Fortunate Son and Have You Ever Seen the Rain are a lot more gloomy than you may realize, the way John Fogerty was able to weave these tracks together always made you bob your head whenever you listened to them. Once the '70s arrived though, these chooglin buddies had lost all of their brotherly love.
Starting with Tom Fogerty's departure after the album Pendulum, tension reached its head on Mardi Gras, with the now-trio using songs as weapons directed at each other. For as much as songs like Sweet Hitch Hiker may have been fine in their time, the album itself was just vomited into existence before everyone washed their hands of the group. While John has moved on to a successful solo career, the chance reunions each of the members have had over the years have been nothing short of icy.
Aside from getting together at a few reunions in their hometown, Fogerty has not really talked to any of his former bandmates ever since, going so far as to not acknowledge them during their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Given the massive amount of feel good hits they notched on the charts, it's a shame that none of that energy could translate to the band themselves.
