10 Musicians That Will Never Work With Each Other Again

9. Mark Hoppus vs. Tom DeLonge - Blink-182

For all of the melodramatic genres that populate rock music, pop punk used to be a real exception to that rule. Unless it was about rebelling against your parents, there was no real reason for the bands behind songs like Welcome to Paradise and Fat Lip to suddenly become pampered rock brats. Fame can make you do crazy things though, and that came at the expense of one of the greatest duos the scene had ever witnessed.

Despite going over well on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, the self-titled Blink-182 record represented a bit of a fracture in the pop punk family, with Tom DeLonge wanting to do more atmospheric work in the vein of something like the Cure. Although things were able to hold together, the ensuing tours and infighting became a disaster, leading DeLonge to pull the colossal d*ck move by quitting the band via fax.

Though most of us predicted that the relationships were ended right there, it wasn't until the reunion that every hope was firmly killed off, with Tom DeLonge screwing around so much to the point where Mark Hoppus had to end up booting him from the band and subbing in Matt Skiba for Blink's second in command going forward. Whereas the good times felt like they could last forever, this is the classic tale of what happens when friends grow apart after high school.
