10 Musicians That Will Never Work With Each Other Again
8. Poison vs. Ritchie Kotzen - Poison
Looking back on the '80s, it's hard not to see it as the decade of overindulgence. Hell, if American Psycho taught us anything, this was the time of cocaine and excess galore, with little regard to the people around you. If you were a part of one of the biggest party bands in the world though, you might want to at least try to keep things under control backstage.
Up until the '90s, Poison was doing great until CC Deville got himself kicked out of the band due to drug problems. Though the arrival of Ritchie Kotzen was a huge upgrade in the playing department, things quickly went to hell backstage when things got a little too hot and heavy. You see, Poison were always known to be ladies' men, but Kotzen's lady in mind also happened to be married to drummer Rikki Rokkett.
Even in a business of low morals, this was a new kind of bottom of the barrel, after which the entire band kicked him out. Throughout the interviews from the same time, the band didn't consider this a bad decision either, with Bret Michaels boasting that the last time he saw Ritchie was after he told him his band days were over. For as much as CC Deville might not be considered a rock prodigee, his spirit is probably what fits Poison the best.
