10 Musicians That Will Never Work With Each Other Again
4. Dave Mustaine vs. Everyone - Metallica
After years of playing in separate bands, you would think that the bad blood between Metallica and Megadeth would be water under the bridge. Since both of them made their millions and garnered millions of fans between them, there's no real reason to keep a longstanding feud about Dave Mustaine getting booted from the band. That would be the logical statement...if Dave's grudge wasn't still there.
Despite many years of refuting his resentment, you can still tell that Dave still has a chip on his shoulder about being the one guy who was asked to leave one of the greatest thrash bands in the world. It makes sense though, given that Metallica ended up using some of Dave's best riffs for other songs like Jump in the Fire and the Call of Ktulu. That's not just starting at ground zero...you now have to live in the shadow of your riffs being stolen.
While Dave is still happy with the fans he's accumulated over the years, you only have to watch Some Kind of Monster once to hear his pain, as he talks about feeling like he was hung out to dry by the rest of his bandmates and not given the second chance that he really deserved. Then again, when you're always living with that in your mind, it starts to suck being #2.
