10 New Bands That Prove Rock Isn't Dead
3. Marmozets
Starting life in 2007 as a melodic mathcore act akin to The Fall of Troy or Destrage before slowly incorporating more and more alt rock and math rock influences, Marmozets have honed their craft over four EPs, until 2014's stellar The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets debut.
The two sets of siblings garnered an early reputation for their energetic and captivating live shows, despite their young age, catching the attention of Gallows' label Venn Records, BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! culminating in the band signing with the legendary Roadrunner Records who then released the debut record soon after.
Marmozets wisely rode this momentum, joining Muse on tour for a second time, earning a Kerrang! Awards nomination and dropped 'Play' and 'Habits' in preparation for their new album expected January 2018. An album not without its non-musical challenges as the Macintyre siblings dealt with the loss of their grandmother and Becca had to learn how to walk again following a series of knee operations.
The heart of Yorkshire beats strongly in these folks though as they set off on their own headline tour in February with Queen Zee & The Sasstones and if you believe about how good they are, just ask Robbie Williams.
