10 Notable Artists With Incomplete Catalogs On Spotify

2. Peter Gabriel

Before kicking off his solo career with a self-titled album in 1977, Peter Gabriel was the frontman of the legendary band Genesis. Songs like Solsbury Hill, Shock The Monkey, Sledgehammer, and In Your Eyes are still played on the radio today, and considered to be rare music that is simultaneously moving, honest and commercially-appealing.

But when you search for Peter Gabriel on Spotify, you only wind up with two singles from 2016 and a few songs from soundtracks and compilations. One of those two recordings from 2016, The Veil - which appeared in the 2016 film Snowden - was the winner of a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. His prior release was 2011's New Blood full-length, and that cannot be found on Spotify.

If you search for "Peter Gabriel tribute," Spotify leads you to a half-dozen albums including the Vitamin String Quartet's 11-song tribute album from 2004. A search of "Peter Gabriel cover," only finds a reworking of In Your Eyes by John Wesley Harding and a karaoke take on Sledgehammer by professional studio team Cover It Up.

Strangely, Gabriel has a verified account which includes a playlist titled World, as posted by his label Real World Records, but not the full amount of tracks fans would want to hear.
