Oh, Britney. This image of the 'bad schoolgirl'-style Britney topped every country in which it charted, sold 10 million copies around the globe, and made the week of many a teenager who saw the video. But it wasn't long before the perceived adult disdain for her image transformed into general distaste at her drink, her drugs, and her music.

For Britney, the golden days were those first days, where she could belt out her record in a loosened tie and charm the world over.

'...Baby One More Time' emphasised that culture that was developing at the end of the 90s - that someone could jump in front of a mic and speak to the world. Britney did just that and won, it's just it wasn't long before they shouted back; "get off the stage."
