10 Often Forgotten Nu Metal Bands

8. Snot

Snot are a prime example of what could have been, had tragedy not occurred.

Eschewing the usual trappings of nu metal, going for a more slower, intense sound than one filled with beats and scratches, Snot were unique.

Lyrically as strong as Deftones and Korn, in that the late Lynn Strait put his heart into them, it was something different to fans of the genre. Of course, you then have completely opposite tracks like, "I Just Lie" to keep you on your toes.

Known for their on stage antics as much as their music, such as Strait emerging naked from Limp Bizkit's giant toilet prop at Ozzfest '98, they had so much potential.

Unfortunately, Strait was involved in a fatal car accident that same year, halting a second album. What was recorded became a tribute album, with frontmen of various bands paying respect to Strait.

Snot has since gone on to reform, which is admirable. It's not the same without Strait, but kudos for keeping the dream alive.
