10 One-Hit Wonder Bands From The 90s That Still Rock

http://youtu.be/hG9C0VwruXE Biggest Hit: Lullabye (1998) "Everything's gonna be all right. Rockabye. Rockabye." If you managed to read that without subsequently trying to belt out the melody to Shawn Mullins' "Lullabye," congratulations on having a black hole where your heart was supposed to be. (It must be great having all that extra storage space!) But seriously, those growling verses cascading into a sweet falsetto chorus...it's pure gold, isn't it? A little less awesome is the amount of airplay Mullins received from that point on which is, as you can probably guess at this point, quite minimal. "Lullabye" was one of the few pop-rock hits of the 90s with some overt country influences, but was lumped in with the likes of Savage Garden anyway. But while his early albums merely flirted with country tones and tossed about references to Nashville, he's since fully embraced the Americana sound. Unfortunately, since he favors a bluesier form of country music and has yet to write a song about his tractor and how awesome beer is, mainstream country music in the States hasn't really welcomed Mullins.
