10 Pairs Of Famous Rock Albums That Came Out On The Same Day
3. Use Your Illusion I & II - Guns N’ Roses & No More Tears - Ozzy Osbourne
This entry could have been solely dedicated to Guns N' Roses' absolute mad decision to release two hour+ long albums on the same day.
September 17th 1991 must have been a day-and-a-half for GNR fans, as both Use Your Illusion I & II dropped at the same time, with rock lovers desperately fretting over which one they should buy first.
Across both albums, the band treated listeners to songs like Civil War, Don't Cry, You Could Be Mine, November Rain, and their cover of Live and Let Die. This was enough to put anyone with even a slight appreciation of rock into a coma.
Alongside Mariah Carey, Hole, and Billy Bragg, someone else crazy enough to take on Guns N' Roses' two juggernauts was Ozzy Osbourne, who put out No More Tears on this day.
With assistance from Zakk Wylde and Lemmy, Osbourne put together a collection of songs that would have dwarfed anything else on any other day, including the title track, Hellraiser, and Mama, I'm Coming Home.
No More Tears still became one of Ozzy's best ever sellers, so clearly the release date didn't harm it that badly.
