10 Perfect 1960s Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

7. Let It Bleed - The Rolling Stones

As the Summer of Love began, it looked like all of the dreams that we had for rock and roll were about to come true. Since the protestors of the Vietnam War were putting their lives on the line and the government was being questioned by the youth of America, the kind of music that was originally meant for dances was actually starting to change the world. Then again, that change is not always for the better.

Seeing the kind of chaos that was happening underneath the surface, The Rolling Stones channeled all of the fear of the time into Let It Bleed, which became one of the more cautionary tales of the Flower Generation. With the psychedelic movement firmly in the rearview, Gimme Shelter and Monkey Man tell a much different story than the peace and love that we had been used to.

After the death of Brian Jones, this is the album where we transition to the drugs and death version of the '60s, where everything starts to crumble apart and the we all start to wake up from our dream state. Since the album ends on You Can't Always Get What You Want though, it might not be the devastating end that we think it is. There might still be hope for this thing we call rock and roll after all.
