10 PERFECT Classic Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

5. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

If you told a rock fan in the late 60's that the greatest pop rock album ever would come from Fleetwood Mac, they'd probably ask you how many drinks you had at dinner. As fate would have it though, this initial blues rock outfit stepped into the 70's and produced some of the greatest folk-flavored rock tunes the world had ever known.

With the three-way songwriting team of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie, Rumours is filled to the brim with single material, from the emotional sting of Nicks' "Dreams" to the happiest kiss-off song ever created in Buckingham's "Go Your Own Way." Although each of the members were in the midst of bitter breakups, the melodrama behind these tunes turned them into some of the emotional moments in rock history, like on the bitter frustration of "The Chain."

Even if you bypass the single cuts, tracks like "Never Going Back Again" have so much fertile material that they're virtually impossible to get out of your head. At the time, Fleetwood Mac had the nasty reputation of being a walking soap opera, but the pure talent behind these tunes could outshine even the harshest forms of aggression. Ironically enough, these tales of romantic agony never fail to make you feel damn good.
