10 Perfect Debut Rock Albums Of The 90s
1. Definitely Maybe - Oasis
If you were to listen to a good half of these records, you would have sworn that most of the '90s would have sounded absolutely miserable to live in. Outside of the sounds of pop punk, the entire grunge movement was always going for a slightly more serious tone, with songs that dealt with serious topics with no real room for any fun. Once Kurt Cobain left this Earth though, the rock revolution was going to thrive thanks to some lads out of Manchester.
Calling their own shot in becoming one of the biggest bands in the world, Oasis rose to the top of the rock and roll food chain with Definitely Maybe, with songs that sounded like the return of the glory days of '70s rock. Compared to the newer sounds happening around the same time, Noel Gallagher took inspiration from acts like the Beatles and created his own masterpiece, with songs about living life to the fullest and making the most with what you have.
Any good band needs a good voice behind it though, and you couldn't imagine a better frontman for these songs than Liam Gallagher, having that distinctive nasal drawl in his voice to put the right amount of attitude behind every one of these tunes. Rock may have been going on for a little while at this point, but this was the shot of adrenaline that made things a lot more interesting. Rock and roll wasn't going to die...it's gonna live forever.
