10 Perfect Music Albums That Defined The 2010's

6. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West

At the start of the decade, Kanye West was pretty quickly turning into the villain of music for a while. After steering some fans astray on his album 808s and Heartbreak, he certainly didn't endear himself to music fans when he decided to jump onstage and interrupt Taylor Swift when she accepted her award at the VMAs. What he needed was a break, and when he went down to Hawaii to cool out, he came back with one of the biggest hip hop albums of the modern age.

When we're talking big though, that doesn't mean just about the popularity of the record. From the sounds of this record, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the most maximalist hip hop production in recent memory, with Kanye wanting to be placed alongside some of the greatest rappers of his generation. After all, that was the plan at the time as well, bringing in a who's who of hip hop like Jay Z, RZA, Rick Ross, and Kid Cudi to make his masterpiece, with some features like Nicki Minaj becoming stars based on their contributions to this album.

Granted, this was not Kanye making an apology for some of the actions he had done in the past. This is a man presenting every ugly side of himself to the world and somehow getting the entire music community to groove to it. You might not agree with him most of the time, but this is one of the greatest anti-hero stories in music history.
