10 Perfect Rock Albums That Critics Got Wrong

5. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis

Sometimes you just have to be in the moment to really get what a band is all about. If you're not in on the ground floor with some artists, it gets a little bit hectic trying to decipher what they're going for after they've hit it big. And once the Britpop movement was officially underway, critics have never looked more behind the times when talking about Oasis.

That's not to say that Oasis were getting horrible ratings... far from it. While there were tons of critics starting to heap praise on (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, other writers still weren't convinced that these guys had any staying power, thinking that they were still just a re-run of what we had loved back in the British Invasion of the '60s. And if you want any further proof as to how behind the times they were, all you had to do was wait until the next album.

While Be Here Now holds the distinction of being the album that killed the golden age of Britpop, critics were lauding over this record as if it was the Second Coming, calling it one of the greatest albums since the era of The Beatles. When you look back on history, they would have been in tune with their fanbase if they just took the hint a few albums before. Because at this point, the quick autocorrection has just looked hilarious nowadays.
