10 Perfect Rock Bands With Two Lead Singers
8. KISS
From day one, KISS always seemed to fashion themselves as a more larger than life version of the Beatles. Complete with get ups that looked like they came from outer space, these were the kind of hard rockers that had just enough cross over appeal to become fans of metalheads and kids who loved comic books. That meant every member had their own personality, and more often than not their own voice on the record.
If you wanted to go with a lead singer of the band, it would normally be Paul Stanley, who sauntered around the stage like some sort of heavy metal preacher of rock and roll. With every religion comes demons as well though, and Gene Simmons had the kind of voice that was reserved for the darker side of rock, especially on the more hard hitting cuts like God of Thunder.
While it took Ace Frehley a little bit to come into his own, Peter Criss was certainly no slouch behind the drums either, having a weird rasp in his voice that put him more on the Rod Stewart side of the conversation. Though the music may have sounded good, this wasn't your standard run of the mill band. These were musicians that were looking to get your attention by any means necessary, and with any one of them up to the mic in their prime, they were pretty much bulletproof.
