10 Perfect Rock Bands With Two Lead Singers

6. Blink-182

One of the biggest things that you have to focus on with two singers is standing apart from your partner. If you end up having two guys who sound exactly the same, then what's the point of even having two people sing in the first place? In Blink 182 though, you weren't just getting two different singers...you were getting two different personalities every time they stepped up to the mic.

Being the one original member of Blink, Mark Hoppus' voice was always straightforward and to the point, having a much lower register and an everyman quality to what he sang about. No matter how rough it may have sounded, you can't really picture anyone else singing the chorus to something like What's My Age Again. On the other side though you had Tom DeLonge, who's voice was a lot more on the higher side of the spectrum in the early days.

If you go back and listen to the songs on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and Enema of the State, you wouldn't really call DeLonge's delivery spectacular, but it's perfect for the style of music that he's working with, capturing just the right amount of adolescent angst in every verse he sings. We all have come to an understanding about the meme status of a song like I Miss You, but if you took that style of singing out of the picture, things would never be the same.
