10 Perfect Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s
4. Everything Will Be Alright In The End - Weezer
It seems like half of Weezer's discography has been them trying to apologize for the mistakes they made in the past. Even in the era of the Green Album, the squeaky clean crunch of some of the songs felt like they were trying to convince us that Pinkerton didn't even happen. At the end of the day though, an apology was all we really wanted, and Everything Will Be Alright In The End was just the trick.
You have to remember that this is the era of Weezer where things started to go waaay too off the rails, with them hooking up with Lil Wayne for a guest feature and having people like Dr. Luke co-write some of their material. By the time this album came out, we were reminded of just how amazing these guys were back in the '90s, from the sounds of Back to the Shack to the unlucky love affairs happening in Lonely Girl and Go Away.
There are even some more sides of the band that we weren't even sure we'd ever see, like Foolish Father making amends with the deadbeat dad that we'd gotten used to from Say It Ain't So. Even though this is definitely a throwback, there isn't a single cynical bone in the construction of any of these songs. After years of going in different weird directions, Weezer finally felt like our band again.
