10 Perfect Rock Singles Of The 2000s
1. Nickelback: How You Remind Me (2001)
Mentioning Nickelback in a serious conversation about great rock acts, is akin to suggesting Donald Trump was a viable political figure. Anyone in their right mind could never truly come to that conclusion. Finding someone who openly admits their affinity for this group is a rare occurrence.
But the fact of the matter is, Nickelback were one of the biggest acts of the decade. So either, they somehow managed to pull off the biggest record-sale scam in history, or some of us might have actually enjoyed a Nickelback track now and then... , it seem like madness to suggest such a thing. But at the very least we can concede their back catalogue isn't as terrible as we all pretend it is.
For all his faults, Chad Kroeger gave the 2000s its most defining rock single. Yes, Nickelback suck, and of course we will never admit to actually liking them, but this single is irresistibly brilliant... Never mind the lyrics don't really make sense; forget the punchable nature of Chad Kroeger's face; just allow yourself to indulgence in this perfectly-crafted, nightmare of a rock single.
