One of the biggest complaints that the more elitist side of metal had about nu metal was the inclusion of the DJ. The rapping may have given a bit of an edge to the sound, but you may as well just be making dance music when you have the turntables onstage, right? The DJ wasn't just set dressing though. This was the kind of glitchiness that could move you, and Linkin Park knew what they had on their hands when they brought out Mr. Hahn.

As you go along, you almost get the feeling that you're walking through some run down dystopian city, where everything is getting more digitized by the minute. He might not study music as much the guitar player does, but what Joe created here is pure art from skin to core.
