10 Perfect Rock Songs That Were Inspired From Another Band

3. The Lemon Song - Led Zeppelin

There's probably a good portion of rock enthusiasts that would want a band like Greta Van Fleet on this list. For as much as their sound might be a throwback to classic '70s rock, it's easy to just call these up and coming kids as taking what Led Zeppelin did and making a career out of it. To all of those subscribing to that argument, are we all just going to forget how blatant Led Zeppelin lifted from artists in the early days?

Because out of all the songs that Zeppelin released during their tenure, the Lemon Song might be the most cheeky way they've been inspired by another track. Although there were a multitude of covers on the band's first record, their second outing was the first time something called the Lemon Song was made, having the seductive mood that became the cornerstone for hard rock. All that libido comes from the blues though, and it wasn't long before the veterans caught on.

Much like the songs on their debut, this was just a reworking of the traditional blues song Killing Floor, only with Zeppelin adding their own flavor into the mix. It's not like they don't add a lot to the original, from Jimmy Page's amazing guitar work to using his guitar almost like an extension of himself.
