10 Perfect Songs From Terrible Bands

6. Let Me Down - Limp Bizkit

It's about time that most of us realize that Limp Bizkit were a mistake to the history of rock. Even for a genre that could get as ridiculous as nu metal, it looked like most of us were starting to see the error of our ways in the early '00s, with Fred Durst getting more insufferable in interviews and pretty much starting a riot during their disastrous set at Woodstock 99. So right when everyone started to fall out of love with them, why did they pick right then to come out with something actually pretty good?

Right after Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, Results May Vary is easily bottom of the barrel Limp Bizkit, with songs that have Fred trying to minimize the effects of Columbine and wanting to sniff a girl's underwear that he barely even knows. In between all of that disgusting behavior though comes Let Me Down, which has a pretty decent guitar hook and the rest of the band killing it behind the scenes, with John Otto's drums moving the groove forward and DJ Lethal putting together a beat that's about as good as the House of Pain days.

While it's easy to just say that it's good because Fred isn't visible, he actually shows up to work here, taking a back seat to the music and actually putting some genuine grit into his voice when he talks about feeling like he's ostracized from society. They might not have had guitar genius Wes Borland behind them, but sometimes bands show you what they're really made of when they have their backs against the wall like this.
