10 Pop Albums That Are Perfect From Front To Back

9. The Fame - Lady Gaga

At the end of the '00s, the days of the diva were still in full swing, with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera still being heavy hitters in the scene. For as many people that flocked to hear these starlets out high-note one another, the actual landscape started to get pretty stale. In the midst of all the generic pop, an eccentric known as Gaga set the entire world on fire.

Coming in 2009, The Fame announced the arrival of a musical visionary that hadn't been seen since the '80s. Rather than being played up as a down-to-earth girl who just happened to get famous, Lady Gaga was every bit the star she proclaimed she would be on her debut single "Just Dance," which brought the energy back into every dance club on Earth.

On the other hand, club jams are far from the only strength to this album's runtime. Spanning across an hour, most of these songs show Gaga to be an excellent songwriter, from the synthetic "Money Honey" to the glittery pop of "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say.)" Pop was already full of big names at the end of the decade, but The Fame showed not only the sounds of pop's past lives, but also where it was going to go in the years to come.
