A six-time Grammy Award winner and three-time Academy Award winner, the hundreds of songs composed by Burt Bacharach have been recorded by more than 1,000 different artists. This includes Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Elvis Costello, The Carpenters and Michael McDonald. He is also a winner of the Gershwin Prize, the GQ Magazine Inspiration Award, and the Polar Music Prize. And he is still out there at 91 years of age.

Bacharach was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived on Warwick Boulevard until he was a toddler; interestingly, many of Bacharach's songs were recorded by Dionne Warwick. Bacharach returned to KC for a homecoming concert at the Muriel Kauffman Theatre in 2014, visiting the site of his childhood home on Warwick prior to the performance.
