10 Punk Bands That Released 5 Great Albums In A Row

7. Blink-182

Whether you think it’s for better or worse, you cannot understate the level of impact that blink-182 have had on modern punk music. Heavy enough to appeal to rock fans, pop enough to play arenas and so important in their melding of styles that almost every modern pop-punk band would cite them as an influence, blink-182 really are the forefathers of a modern generation.

Before settling into their iconic lineup, Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus made two albums without drummer Travis Barker: Cheshire Cat (1995) and Dude Ranch (1997). Neither of them are perfect records but they’re packed with charm and the figuring out of their game changing sound.

What came next was a three album run of perfection in Enema of the State (1999), Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), blink-182 (2003). The first is an absolute essential listen for every music fan and the band’s most iconic record, the second an audacious show of incredible song writing and the third this incredible show of a band growing up, sombre yet full of massive tunes.

This five album run turned blink-182 into genuine stars and changed the course of music forever.
