7. Existential Reckoning - Puscifer

Puscifer often divide opinions because of the revolving door nature of the lineup, among other things. Created by Maynard James Keenan, as essentially a platform that lets him escape the shadows of Tool and be his unapologetically strange self, the group have in recent years been able to establish a moderately stable line-up. Existential Reckoning reaps the full benefits of that stability, allowing the artists to create magic that far transcends their individuality.

Musically and thematically, the album cranks the strangeness up to 11. The electro-infused rock formula will take hold of the ear drums of anyone listening. This is perfectly complemented by the high concept themes such as aliens abducting people.

The album begins strong with the riffs and keyboards on "Bread and Circus". And his continues all the way until we end with the multi-layered, funk-draped “Postulous”. Keenan’s lyrics create a wonderful blur of uncertain meanings while letting the complex themes drip through just enough to get the listeners hooked. His vocal tandem with Carina is simply incredible all throughout the album, while Mitchell creates the kind of sound that truly propels the album into the stratosphere.
