10 Rock Albums That Peak With The Final Song

8. Black Holes And Revelations - Muse

British band Muse are the most successful thing to come out Devon since the idea of putting the cream on a scone before the jam.

Devon is a very quiet place.

After bursting onto the scene with their album Showbiz, the band established themselves as a tour de force before arriving at their fourth record Black Holes and Revelations. It was a big success, thanks in part to songs like Starlight, Invincible, and Supermassive Black Hole.

And before you ask, yes that is the one from Twilight.

To get the best out of Black Holes etc. etc., you need to venture to the very end of the record, where you'll find six minutes of Western-infused rock goodness.

Knights of Cydonia sounds like Daft Punk and Sergio Leone had a baby and then that baby got really into effects pedals. The relentless guitars and drums all build to the iconic "No one's gonna take me alive!" section at the end, which has been used in so many movies, TV shows, and adverts by this point that it's getting ridiculous.

The song isn't just the most famous on the album; it's also the most exciting by a country mile.
